Why do chiropractors want to see you 3 times a week?

March 04, 20252 min read

Have you ever wondered why chiropractors often recommend coming in for treatments 3 times per week, at least initially?

It might seem like a lot, especially if you're new to chiropractic care.

But there's actually a very specific reason behind this common treatment plan.

As your chiropractor, I want to make sure you understand the logic behind it.

Frequent visits in the initial stages of care are crucial for effectively correcting spinal misalignments and restoring proper function.

Chiropractic adjustments work by gently realigning the vertebrae in your spine.

This helps take pressure off the nerves, improve range of motion, and reduce pain and inflammation.

However, it takes time and repetition for these adjustments to "hold" and for your body to adapt.

If you only see your chiropractor once a week, or even less often, the adjustments have a harder time sticking.

Your spine is essentially "resetting" back to its imbalanced position between visits.

This prevents you from experiencing the full, lasting benefits of treatment.

But by coming in 3 times per week at the start…

…your chiropractor can gradually retrain your spine to stay properly aligned.

This accelerates the healing process and gives you quicker relief from your symptoms.

Over time, as your condition improves, the visit frequency can often be reduced to once a week, or even once a month for maintenance care.

But that initial intensive period is crucial for setting you up for long-term musculoskeletal health.

I know the weekly commitment can seem daunting, but I assure you it's well worth it.

The faster we can correct the root problem, the sooner you'll be feeling better.
